How to get to the start of the CBSR?
There are various options to get to the starting line of the Costa Brava Stage Run in the coastal town of Blanes, beginning of the Costa Brava. We have also two airports nearby, which make it easy for international runners to get to the race.
You can easily reach the start by car both coming from the North (Girona) or from the South (Barcelona). You can calculate the route clicking here or in the following map. Blanes can be accessed by car via the highway C-32 from Barcelona, and via the route N-II from Girona.
You can take the bus (line 603) both from T1 & T2 that will take you from the airport to Blanes. You can check the timetables here. There is a service aproximately every 2 hours and the journey will last also about 2 hours.
From Barcelona Airport you can also reach Blanes by train. In order to do so, you first have to reach “Catalunya” train station in Barcelona center. You can take the Aerobus from both T1 & T2 that will take you to Catalunya Square in about 35′. From there you can take the R1 line of the Catalonian trains (Rodalies RENFE). You can check the train schedule here. The train journey will last about 1h. 20′. From Blanes train station you should take a bus in order to get to the town center.
From Girona Airport:
You can reach the start in Blanes both by bus and train from Girona airport.
You can take the bus line 601 that will take you from Girona airport to Blanes. However there are only two buses one in the morning and the other in the evening, you can check the timetables here. Best option is to take a bus to Girona train and bus station (check the timetables here), and from there either take a train or a bus to Blanes. Check the bus timetibles (line 601) here. The journey by bus will last about 1 hour from Girona.
From Girona airport you should take a bus to Girona train and bus station (check the timetables here), and from there you can take the R11 and R1 line of the Catalonian trains (Rodalies RENFE) to Blanes. You can check the train schedule here. If you get a direct train (line R1) the journey will last about 45′, if you get the line R11, you will have to change the train in Maçanet-Massanes station to line R1 and the joourney will take 1h.-1h.30′ depending on the transfer. From Blanes train station you should take a bus in order to get to the town center.

The night before the start of the Costa Brava Stage Run and the night after the finish of the Costa Brava Stage Run are not included in the Premium package. However, if you would like to sleep in Blanes, we recommend you to stay at Hotel Costa Brava in Blanes (well communicated with a bus stop offering services to Blanes train station and both Girona and Barcelona airports). There is a free parking lot to leave your vehicles just 500 meters from the starting line, which is situated in Blanes seawalk.
How to get back from the finish of the CBSR?
It is possible to leave by car from Portbou, you can calculate your route clicking here or in the map in your right.
We also offer the possibility to hire a return bus to Blanes, which will be leaving Portbou on sunday at 18:30 (+20€), the journey will take approximately 2 hours. The bus will stop at Girona Airport if requested (approximate arrival at 19:45). From Blanes you can go back to Barcelona by train with the R1 line of Catalonian trains.
